Christ in Every Book of the Bible

From the archives of Oral Roberts

When I began in the healing ministry, as I was searching the Bible virtually day and night, reading it over and over, book after book, passage after passage, it came to me that in every book of the Bible, Jesus was chief. He was the heart. I began to see what He was in Genesis — the seed of the woman; what He was in Exodus — the Passover Lamb. And right on through the Bible I saw, in just a few words, what He was in each book.

One night as I was preaching, I decided to launch out with Jesus in every book of the Bible. I didn’t know if my memory would hold out because, as you know, there are sixty-six books in the Bible. I could get through the four major prophets — Isaiah, Jeremiah, Ezekiel, and Daniel. But getting through the twelve minor prophets…not that was tough!

I went on into the New Testament and right on through to Paul’s writings. Then when I came to the Book of Revelation, I had no problem at all because in that book, I knew He was the King of kings and Lord of lords.

I had no idea what would happen, but when I gave the entire books of the Bible, the crowd rose up like a covey of quail and began to shout and glorify God!
